Our story

Built by guides, not by a call centre

R&H WildQuest began in 2012 with one Land Cruiser, two founders and a straightforward frustration: too many safaris were being sold by people who had never sat in the vehicle.

Today we run our own fleet and our own guides across four countries. We are small enough that the person who answers your first e-mail is still there when you land, and large enough to hold gorilla permits, secure Serengeti camps in high season, and get you across a border without a two-hour wait.

We do not sell fixed departures you have to squeeze into. We quote your dates, your pace and your budget — and we will tell you honestly when a park is not worth the detour in the month you are travelling.

What we stand for

Four things we will not compromise on

Honest pricing

Our quotes include park fees, meals, transport and taxes. What is excluded is listed just as plainly. No booking fees, no fuel surcharges, no surprises at the gate.

Local employment

Every guide, driver and office staff member is East African, on a permanent contract. Camp and lodge partners are chosen partly on how they treat their teams.

Low-impact travel

We cap vehicle numbers at sightings, stay on designated tracks, and route a share of every booking to conservancy lease fees that keep land in wildlife use.

Safety as standard

Serviced and tracked vehicles, first-aid-trained guides, and flying-doctor evacuation cover on every single booking at no extra cost.

How it works

From first message to first game drive

01

Tell us what you want

Send an enquiry or pick a package as a starting point. Rough dates and a rough budget are enough — we take it from there.

02

We build the itinerary

Within 24 hours you get a costed, day-by-day plan with named lodges. Change anything you like; there is no charge for revisions.

03

Secure your dates

Pay a 30% deposit online by card or M-PESA. We book the permits, camps and flights the same day.

04

Travel with us

Your guide meets you at the airport. From that point on you have a real person on WhatsApp for the whole trip.

What our guests say

Sarah Whitfield

Sarah Whitfield

London, United Kingdom

“We saw a river crossing on our second morning and I genuinely cried. Our guide Peter had positioned us two hours early on a hunch and he was right. That is the difference between a safari company and a good one.”

Marcus Lindqvist

Marcus Lindqvist

Stockholm, Sweden

“Ten days, six parks, zero admin on my side. Every transfer was on time, the vehicle was immaculate, and when our flight into Nairobi was delayed by four hours the driver was still waiting. Faultless.”

Priya & Anand Menon

Priya & Anand Menon

Bengaluru, India

“We travelled with two children under ten and were nervous about it. R&H built the itinerary around shorter driving days and it worked perfectly. The kids still talk about the elephants at Amboseli.”

Danielle Okonkwo

Danielle Okonkwo

Lagos, Nigeria

“Booked the Diani extension after a Mara safari. The Wasini dhow day was the highlight of the whole trip and it was not even on the original plan — they arranged it in a day.”

Tom & Rachel Brennan

Tom & Rachel Brennan

Melbourne, Australia

“The gorilla trek in Bwindi was hard work and completely worth it. R&H secured our permits nine months out, sorted the Kihihi flights, and briefed us properly on what to expect. No surprises.”

Jean-Luc Moreau

Jean-Luc Moreau

Lyon, France

“Third safari with this team. What keeps me coming back is that they tell you the truth — including when a park is not worth the detour that month. Rare and appreciated.”
